Thanks for visiting my site!
I am now based in Torquay, a ‘sea change’ for the better.
For those of you who have waited so long for an update, my apologies.
I am however deeply unapologetic for my deep love of Eastern heroes in cinema female and male, and how they have surfaced in my art for decades. It is unavoidable that an artist will produce artwork that reflects the things he is immersed in.
Whilst much of my work is for children, I have two of my own, I also have content of a more adult nature on the site in Round… project.
The main propose for this website currently is that I am looking for a publisher for,
The Boy...
Brave...
And many future projects in various states of progress.
About Art
I am always pleasantly surprised by the outcome of painting and drawing. As much as I like to impose the left analytical, calculating side of my brain I find that the intuitive right side always wins out as I float off into la-la land when I create. I can rarely mould my artwork into the exacting vision that I have imagined. I generally take the path that the drawing/painting reveals to me. Sometimes I’m a bystander looking on but I love this struggle.
I work some nights nights and rare days off and always try to strike a balance of family time versus indulgence time. Life/Family/Work balance is always hard to attain. Although dearly important to me, art is merely a reflection of life, a life that I plan to savour and enjoy with friends and family.
I enjoy spirited art generally driven by story elements and dreams. I am not interested in pictorial realism, a blend of the imagined and secular is more raw, beautiful, honest and confronting , and inspiring to me. My artwork is nearly always figurative as I am interested in exploring characters external and internal worlds.
With both drawing and painting I strive to create unique, expressive, bold rich, energetic and dynamic compositions. And above all, hand made, in this manufactured world.
